Amplify: to make something louder, to add/expand detail, to increase size and effect.
Ipswich Museum presents ‘Amplify’ a free event hosted at Ipswich County Library from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 10th May for young adults aged 16 – 30, to build connections and explore career pathways within the cultural, art and wellbeing services.
From 10am – 2pm, young adults will be able to sign up to some free workshops taking place in the Wolsey Room and brush up on your CV writing with Volunteering Matters, get creative using objects from the Ipswich Museum Collections and get excited about your future potential with Young Artists in Suffolk’s Vison Poster Workshop.
Between 1 – 4pm join us in the Lecture Hall and explore stalls from some of the cultural organisations and wellbeing services in Ipswich; build connections, explore career pathways and potential opportunities. Stallholders include: Volunteering Matters, Inside Out Community, Ipswich Museum, Subversive Collective (VR spray painting), Outreach Youth UK, Aspire Black Suffolk, Maritime Trust, DanceEast, Farthing Funeral Services and Lofty Heights.
This event is part of the museums ‘working with families’ strand of work, to create opportunities for families and their members to gain skills and understand opportunities in a neutral space. This also has a focus on working class families, where we are reserving some spaces for service users at the Ipswich Job Centre, YMCA and 4YP.
